From April 14 to 16, 2026, SensorShenzhen2026 was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Exhibition data show that buyers from Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore reached on-site intended orders for pressure and differential pressure sensors totaling US$120 million. Among them, 73% of the orders were concentrated in products featuring miniaturization(≤Φ12mm), corrosion resistance(Hastelloy/titanium alloy diaphragms), and IP68 protection ratings, mainly for local production line upgrade projects in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, and new energy battery manufacturing. This trend sends substantive signals to sensor export trade, precision structural component manufacturing, specialty material supply, and industrial automation system integration, and is worthy of close attention from relevant enterprises.
SensorShenzhen2026 was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from April 14 to 16, 2026, and the closing data were officially released on May 4, 2026. According to official disclosures, buyers from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore reached intended orders for pressure and differential pressure sensors totaling US$120 million during the exhibition; among them, 73% of the intended orders were clearly directed toward three technical specifications: miniaturization(≤Φ12mm), corrosion resistance(using Hastelloy or titanium alloy diaphragms), and IP68 protection rating; application scenarios were concentrated in production line upgrade projects across four major sectors: food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, and new energy batteries.
Directly affected. Southeast Asian buyers, acting as end users or regional distributors, have clearly released specific technical parameters and application requirements, indicating a shift from general-purpose procurement to customized, application-adapted purchasing. The impact is reflected in the need for export quotations to strengthen technical responsiveness(such as diaphragm material certification and third-party reports for IP ratings), while delivery cycles need to match the pace of production line upgrades rather than follow the traditional stock-based supply model.
Indirectly affected. The increasing share of specialty metal diaphragms such as Hastelloy and titanium alloy will transmit demand upstream for high-precision etched foils, corrosion-resistant solder materials, and specialty surface treatment services. The impact is reflected in pressure on conventional stainless steel diaphragm supply chains, while suppliers with capabilities in small-batch, multi-batch, high-consistency specialty alloy processing may see their bargaining power strengthen in phases.
The structural impact is significant. Miniaturization(≤Φ12mm)requires higher assembly precision and micro-sealing processes, while IP68 protection must be achieved through coordinated structural design and potting, rather than simply thickening the housing. The impact is reflected in the fact that existing production lines lacking micro-dimension calibration tooling, helium leak testing equipment, or automatic dispensing systems for two-component silicone will find it difficult to stably undertake such orders; contract manufacturing enterprises need to reassess process compatibility.
Role positioning is facing adjustment. Southeast Asian buyers are already able to precisely identify products meeting combined parameters such as Hastelloy diaphragms, IP68, and Φ12mm, weakening the traditional value of “broad-net” model recommendations. The impact is reflected in the need for distributors to strengthen localization of technical documentation(such as Thai/Vietnamese versions of EMC and IP test reports)and provide support for small-batch trial production, otherwise they are likely to be replaced by direct procurement from end users.
What deserves more attention at present is that miniaturization and IP68 are not isolated indicators. When combined with corrosion-resistant diaphragms, they impose compounded requirements on zero-point temperature drift, long-term stability(1 year ±0.25%FS), and media compatibility verification. Enterprises should verify whether their own products have completed accelerated life testing under corresponding operating conditions, rather than merely satisfying nominal claims for individual parameters.
From an analytical perspective, US$120 million refers to “on-site intended orders,” not signed contracts. Manufacturing upgrade projects in Southeast Asia generally go through a 6–12 month cycle of proposal review and budget approval. Enterprises should treat whether formal RFQs(requests for quotation)are received within the following 3 months and whether they are included in local OEM supplier shortlists as key observation points for real conversion.
From an industry perspective, countries such as Vietnam and Thailand have in recent years strengthened requirements for CE/UKCA declarations of conformity, RoHS substance declarations, and local after-sales response times for imported industrial sensors. It is recommended that enterprises already present in these markets complete updates to bilingual English-Thai/English-Vietnamese technical documents for mainstream models before the end of June, and confirm the coverage capabilities of locally authorized repair service points.
Observation shows that 73% of the orders are concentrated in three types of combined technical specifications, reflecting that demand is not evenly distributed. Enterprises should not immediately expand capacity across all product categories, but should instead prioritize improving flexible switching capabilities for Φ12mm packaging lines, Hastelloy diaphragm bonding stations, and IP68 potting sections, so as to avoid production line idling or worsened bottlenecks caused by volume fluctuations in a single model.
Observably, the current data are more like a regional signal of technical procurement trends rather than an already formed result of large-scale orders. The reasons are: first, the intended amount does not disclose core commercial elements such as payment terms, delivery schedules, and breach clauses; second, the industrial foundations of the six Southeast Asian countries differ greatly, and the validation standards for Vietnam’s electronics assembly, Indonesia’s water treatment, and Thailand’s pharmaceuticals are not unified, making it difficult to quickly replicate the same technical solution. What the industry needs to continue watching is whether, starting from the third quarter of 2026, the import customs clearance volumes of products with similar parameters show a significant year-on-year increase in target countries, and whether mainstream local OEM manufacturers update their sensor technical white papers on their official websites—these two points are the objective evidence of demand landing.
Conclusion: the Southeast Asian procurement trend released by SensorShenzhen2026 essentially redefines sensor reliability, adaptability, and scenario-specific depth capabilities in the context of manufacturing upgrades. It does not mean explosive short-term growth, but it signals that exporters need to shift from “parameter benchmarking” to “co-building operating conditions”—that is, jointly defining test environments, validation methods, and failure boundaries with downstream customers. At present, it is more appropriate to understand this as a stress test of technical responsiveness rather than simply a market opportunity window.
