The intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It operates based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volumetric flow of conductive liquids with conductivity greater than 5μS/cm, and is an inductive instrument for measuring the volumetric flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volumetric flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volumetric flow of highly corrosive liquids such as strong acids and strong alkalis, as well as uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspended liquids such as slurry, ore slurry, and pulp. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, light textile, papermaking, environmental protection, food and other industrial sectors, as well as in municipal management, water conservancy construction, river dredging and other fields for flow metering.

 

II,Working Principle 

According to the principle of Faraday electromagnetic induction, a pair of detection electrodes is installed on the pipe wall perpendicular to the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic field lines. When the conductive liquid moves along the axis of the measuring tube, the conductive liquid cuts the magnetic field lines and generates an induced electromotive force. This induced electromotive force is detected by two detection electrodes, and its value is directly proportional to the flow rate. Its value is:
   E=KBVD 
   Where:
   E-induced electromotive force;
   K-coefficient related to magnetic field distribution and axial length;
   B-magnetic induction intensity;
   V-average velocity of conductive liquid;
   D-distance between electrodes; (inner diameter of the measuring tube)
   The sensor uses the induced electromotive force E as the flow signal and transmits it to the converter. After amplification, conversion, filtering, and a series of digital processing, the instantaneous flow and accumulated flow are displayed on a backlit dot-matrix LCD. The converter has 420mA output, alarm output, and frequency output, and is equipped with communication interfaces such as RS485, and supports HART and MODBUS protocols.

 

III,Instrument Features

Using SMD components and surface mount (SMT) technology, with high circuit reliability;
No moving parts in the pipeline, no flow-blocking parts, and almost no additional pressure loss during measurement;
The range can be modified online on site according to the user's actual needs;
The measurement result is unrelated to physical parameters such as flow velocity distribution, fluid pressure, temperature, density, and viscosity;
High-definition backlit LCD display, full Chinese menu operation, convenient to use, simple to operate, easy to learn and understand;
With digital communication signal outputs such as RS485, RS232, Hart and Modbus; (optional)

With self-check and self-diagnosis functions;
Hourly total recording function, recording the total flow by hour, suitable for time-of-use metering systems (optional);
Internally equipped with three integrators, which can respectively display forward cumulative quantity, reverse cumulative quantity, and differential cumulative quantity, and internally equipped with a power-fail clock, which can record 16 power-off times. (optional);
 Infrared handheld operator, 115KHZ communication rate, remote non-contact operation of all functions of the converter (optional).
