The intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It operates based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volumetric flow of conductive liquids with conductivity greater than5μS/cm, making it an inductive instrument for measuring the volumetric flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volumetric flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volumetric flow of highly corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, as well as uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspensions such as slurry, ore pulp, and paper pulp. It is widely used for flow metering in industries such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, light textile, papermaking, environmental protection, and food, as well as in municipal administration, water conservancy construction, river dredging, and other fields.

 

II.Working Principle 

According to Faraday's principle of electromagnetic induction, a pair of detecting electrodes is installed on the pipe wall perpendicular to the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic field lines. When the conductive liquid moves along the axis of the measuring tube, the conductive liquid cuts the magnetic field lines and generates an induced electromotive force. This induced electromotive force is detected by the two detecting electrodes, and its value is directly proportional to the flow rate. Its value is:
   E=KBVD 
   Where:
   E– induced electromotive force;
   K– coefficient related to magnetic field distribution and axial length;
   B– magnetic induction intensity;
   V– average velocity of the conductive liquid;
   D– distance between electrodes; (inner diameter of the measuring tube)
   The sensor uses the induced electromotive forceEas the flow signal and transmits it to the converter. After amplification, conversion, filtering, and a series of digital processing steps, the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow are displayed on a backlit dot-matrix LCD. The converter has420mAoutput, alarm output, and frequency output, and is equipped with communication interfaces such asRS485, and supportsHARTandMODBUSprotocols.

 

III.Instrument Features

Hourly total recording function, recording the total flow by hour, suitable for time-of-use metering systems (optional);
Internally equipped with three totalizers, which can separately display forward total, reverse total, and differential total. It also has a power-failure-proof clock inside, capable of recording16power outage times. (optional);
 Infrared handheld operator,115KHZcommunication rate, remote non-contact operation of all converter functions (optional).
