The intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It operates based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volumetric flow of conductive liquids with conductivity greater than 5μS/cm. It is an inductive instrument for measuring the volumetric flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volumetric flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volumetric flow of highly corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, as well as uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspensions such as slurry, ore pulp, and paper pulp. It is widely used for flow measurement in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, light textile, papermaking, environmental protection, food and other industrial sectors, as well as in municipal administration, water conservancy construction, river dredging, and other fields.

 

II.Working Principle 

According to Faraday's principle of electromagnetic induction, a pair of detection electrodes is installed on the pipe wall perpendicular to the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic field lines. When the conductive liquid moves along the axis of the measuring tube, the conductive liquid cuts the magnetic field lines and generates an induced electromotive force. This induced electromotive force is detected by the two detection electrodes, and its magnitude is directly proportional to the flow rate. Its value is:
   E=KBVD 
   Where:
   E-induced electromotive force;
   K-coefficient related to magnetic field distribution and axial length;
   B-magnetic induction intensity;
   V-average velocity of conductive liquid;
   D-distance between electrodes; (inner diameter of measuring tube)
   The sensor uses the induced electromotive force E as the flow signal and transmits it to the converter. After amplification, conversion, filtering, and a series of digital processing, the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow are displayed on a backlit dot-matrix LCD. The converter has 420mA output, alarm output, and frequency output, and is equipped with communication interfaces such as RS485, and supports HART and MODBUS protocols.

 

III.Instrument Features

Ultra-low EMI switching power supply, suitable for a wide range of power supply voltage variations, with excellent resistance to EMI;
Adopts a 16-bit embedded microprocessor with fast operation speed and high accuracy, and programmable low-frequency rectangular wave excitation,  improving the stability of flow measurement while reducing power consumption;
Uses SMD components and surface mount (SMT) technology for high circuit reliability;
There are no moving parts or flow-blocking components inside the pipeline, resulting in almost no additional pressure loss during measurement;
The measuring range can be modified online on site according to actual user requirements;
The measurement results are independent of physical parameters such as flow velocity distribution, fluid pressure, temperature, density, and viscosity;
High-definition backlit LCD display, full Chinese menu operation, convenient to use, simple to operate, and easy to learn and understand;
Provides digital communication signal outputs such as RS485, RS232, Hart, and Modbus; (optional)

With self-check and self-diagnosis functions;
Hourly total recording function, recording the total flow on an hourly basis, suitable for time-of-use metering systems (optional);
Internally equipped with three totalizers that can separately display forward cumulative flow, reverse cumulative flow, and differential cumulative flow. It also has a non-power-loss clock inside and can record 16 power outage times. (optional);
 Infrared handheld operator, 115KHZ communication rate, remote non-contact operation of all converter functions (optional).

Customized products have a lead time and are non-returnable and non-exchangeable.
