CX-203 Pressure Transmitter Service Life Extension Tips: 5 Key Points for Diffused Silicon Sensor Maintenance
Added to Favorites:125

As the core component of the CX-203 pressure transmitter, the diffused silicon sensor directly affects equipment service life and measurement accuracy through its maintenance and upkeep. This article is aimed at industrial field operators and explains 5 key maintenance points in detail, helping you master the correct use of diffused silicon liquid and gas pressure sensors and effectively extend the service life of transmitters in the CX-203 series and other similar series.

I. Working Principle and Structural Features of the Diffused Silicon Sensor

The diffused silicon pressure sensor uses the piezoresistive effect of semiconductor silicon material and is precision-processed to form a Wheatstone bridge structure. When external pressure acts on the sensing element, the silicon diaphragm deforms, causing a change in resistance value and thereby outputting an electrical signal proportional to the pressure. The diffused silicon sensor used in the CX-203 pressure transmitter features high sensitivity, fast response, and good stability, but at the same time it also places higher demands on the operating environment—factors such as temperature fluctuations, medium corrosion, and mechanical vibration may all affect its performance.

II. Five Key Factors Affecting Sensor Service Life

1. Medium Compatibility Management

Different media vary significantly in their degree of corrosion to diffused silicon sensors. Taking the chemical industry as an example, strong acid and strong alkali environments will accelerate the corrosion of 316L stainless steel isolation diaphragms. Users are advised to regularly inspect the condition of the seals used with Domestic weighing sensor LF-R-(M) spoke-type weighing module testing machine pressure sensor spring pressure sensor. When measuring active gases such as chlorine, sensors made of Hastelloy should be selected. According to ISO 21873 standards, when the medium temperature exceeds 80℃, a heat sink or cooling device needs to be installed.

2. Pressure Surge Protection

Instantaneous pressure peaks are the main cause of silicon chip cracking. Under operating conditions such as hydraulic system startup and shutdown or valve switching, it is recommended to install a damping valve or pulse snubber at the front end of the CX-203 pressure transmitter. Test data shows that after installing a buffering device, the mean time between failures (MTBF) of the PM-PM320 pressure transmitter can be extended by more than 3 times.

3. Electrical System Specifications

Incorrect wiring may cause signal drift or even hardware damage. Operation must strictly follow the wiring diagram of the PD-PD50 pressure transmitter: the power line and signal line must be routed separately, the shielding layer must be grounded at one end, and installation in the same cable tray with strong interference sources such as frequency converters must be avoided. During routine inspection, special attention should be paid to whether the wiring terminals are oxidized or loose, and it is recommended to use a megohmmeter every quarter to test insulation resistance.

4. Environmental Adaptability Optimization

Changes in temperature and humidity can cause zero-point drift in the YSJ-B1 pressure transmitter. Within the operating temperature range of -20℃~+65℃, every 10℃ temperature difference may produce an error of 0.1%FS. For outdoor installation scenarios, a transmitter housing with a protection rating of IP65 or above should be selected, and direct sunlight should be avoided. For example, application cases of the VP-VP451 pressure transmitter in desert areas show that after adding a sunshade, its annual failure rate decreased by 62%.

5. Periodic Calibration Maintenance

According to the JJG 882-2019 pressure transmitter verification regulation, industrial-grade transmitters should undergo on-site calibration every 12 months. When using a standard pressure source to calibrate the S-10 pressure transmitter, three-point calibration must be carried out at 0%、50%、100% range points. Recording, comparing, and analyzing data can reveal trends of sensor performance degradation, and the historical curve function of instruments paired with the PT-A pressure transmitter provides convenience for this purpose.

III. Typical Fault Diagnosis and Emergency Handling
