Xi'an Shenghongchuang digital level sensors are designed for applications such as industrial level monitoring, tank management, and automated control. Products leave the factory after precision machining, program commissioning, range calibration, and finished-product inspection. For technical evaluators, accuracy should not be assessed solely by a single nominal value; the measurement medium, installation position, level fluctuations, temperature changes, and control system sampling method should also be considered comprehensively.
Under stable operating conditions involving clean water, oil products, mildly corrosive liquids, and similar media, digital level sensors can provide a continuous and reliable measurement basis for level indication, high/low alarms, pump and valve interlocking, and remote data acquisition through proper selection and correct installation. Whether measurement results remain reliable over the long term depends on the combined performance of the sensing element, signal processing, structural sealing, and on-site interference resistance.
Leveraging the manufacturing and testing capabilities of Shaanxi Qinkong Sensor Technology Co., Ltd., Shenghongchuang applies process-based control to raw materials, machining and assembly, accuracy calibration, and factory acceptance. The actual accuracy of a sensor shall be subject to the technical agreement, measuring range, and calibration results for the corresponding model. Measurement conditions should be verified in advance, especially for projects involving small ranges, high temperatures, high pressures, or significant changes in medium density.
If a project requires level data to be integrated into a PLC, DCS, touchscreen, or IoT platform, digital signal transmission can reduce the frequency of manual meter reading and facilitate trend analysis. For applications requiring measurement accuracy, sensor accuracy, repeatability, temperature drift, output resolution, and overall system error are recommended to be compared under the same evaluation criteria.
Accuracy generally represents the allowable deviation between a sensor's measured value and the actual liquid level, but it is not equivalent to the final error of the entire system. For example, a 5 mm deviation in the installation reference height or increasing sediment at the bottom of a vessel can affect on-site readings. Even if the sensor itself has been precisely calibrated, compensation and verification must still be carried out in conjunction with process conditions.
Repeatability reflects the consistency of multiple measurements under the same operating conditions, while stability focuses more on whether output drifts after long-term operation. For equipment requiring continuous 24-hour operation, long-term level interlocking, or unattended monitoring, stable repeatable output is often more practically valuable than short-term laboratory readings.
When selecting a digital level sensor, measuring range compatibility should also be confirmed. If actual level changes are concentrated within a very small portion of the range, the system's usable resolution will decrease; if the range is set too tightly, overload may occur due to level surges, excessively high liquid levels, or pressure fluctuations. It is generally recommended to reserve an appropriate margin based on the actual measurement range.
For high-temperature media, foaming liquids, viscous liquids, or tanks with agitation, medium density, pressure transmission conditions, fluctuation frequency, and installation location should be evaluated simultaneously. Shenghongchuang can provide suitable products for conventional and complex industrial operating conditions. For non-standard projects, medium parameters and control objectives should be clearly specified before ordering.
In level monitoring systems, 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, and RS485 are common output methods. Analog signals have a simple structure and strong compatibility, making them suitable for field instruments and conventional PLC input modules; RS485 is more suitable for networking multiple devices, long-distance data reading, and automation projects that require device status inquiries.
If the control system only requires real-time level values and high/low alarms, 4-20mA is generally easy to deploy and offers certain conveniences for open-circuit detection. If a project needs to collect multipoint level data, device addresses, operating status, and historical data simultaneously, an RS485 communication solution is more conducive to centralized management, but the communication protocol, baud rate, terminating resistor, and field wiring quality must be confirmed.
Shenghongchuang digital level sensors can serve applications in machinery manufacturing, chemical energy, logistics and warehousing, environmental monitoring, and automated production lines. During selection, it should not simply be assumed that digital output is necessarily superior to analog output; the decision should be based on the field controller interface, cable distance, interference environment, maintenance capability, and future expansion requirements.
Taking a 12-point tank level monitoring project as an example, if each tank is individually connected to a PLC analog input module, the initial wiring is straightforward. If centralized host computer management, cross-area wiring, and communication diagnostic capability are required, using an RS485 bus can reduce the use of interface resources. The actual solution should be determined by the control system architecture and operation and maintenance method.
Industrial level measurement is often affected by high temperature, high pressure, corrosion, vibration, electromagnetic interference, and liquid surface fluctuations. For corrosive media, a suitable sensor structure should be selected according to acidity or alkalinity, concentration, temperature, and wetted materials; in areas with strong interference, shielded cables, grounding methods, and power supply stability should be given careful attention.
Submersible level transmitters are suitable for continuous level measurement in many deep wells, water tanks, storage tanks, and similar applications. During installation, however, the probe should be prevented from resting directly in sediment at the bottom, and the cable should be protected from prolonged tension or abrasion by sharp edges. For vessels with significant liquid surface fluctuations, reading stability can be improved through proper installation positioning and control program filtering.
In flammable and explosive environments, suitability cannot be determined solely based on labels such as “mining” or “explosion-proof.” The required explosion protection type, rating, temperature group, certification documents, and installation zone must be verified. For intrinsically safe level sensors, the safety barrier parameters must also be confirmed to match the field loop parameters, ensuring that the entire loop meets application requirements.
Shenghongchuang's product portfolio covers industrial measurement and control equipment including level, pressure, differential pressure, temperature and humidity, flow, and intelligent digital display control instruments, and can provide supporting configurations according to system requirements. For complex projects, it is recommended to provide the medium name, density, temperature, pressure, vessel height, installation method, supply voltage, and output requirements at one time to facilitate targeted product selection.
Installing a digital level sensor involves more than simply securing the probe and connecting the power supply. Before installation, the actual reference surface corresponding to the range zero point should be confirmed, and the supply voltage, wiring definition, and signal interface should be checked. After installation, verification should be performed using known liquid level points. For a vessel with a height of 3 m, at least 3 points—low, middle, and high—can be selected for comparison and confirmation.
During on-site maintenance, it is recommended to regularly inspect the probe surface for scaling, pressure port blockage, seal aging, cable damage, and loose wiring terminals. For corrosive liquids or media containing impurities, a cleaning cycle should be established according to the actual degree of contamination rather than waiting until abnormal level indications occur.
When data fluctuations, zero-point shifts, or communication interruptions occur, the power supply, grounding, cable shielding, sensor installation condition, medium changes, and control system parameters can be checked in sequence. For RS485 communication, it is also necessary to check whether device addresses are duplicated, whether the A/B wires are reversed, whether the communication distance exceeds system design conditions, and whether termination measures have been implemented as required.
Xi'an Shenghongchuang Instrumentation Co., Ltd. can provide product sales, technical services, and non-standard customization support. Before purchase, on-site project photos, vessel dimensions, medium information, target accuracy, output signals, and explosion-proof requirements can be submitted to technical personnel. A professional team can then confirm the digital level sensor model, measuring range, material, and installation solution, reducing subsequent commissioning and maintenance costs.
