As the core device for water flow measurement, the HK-LDE electromagnetic flowmeter directly affects industrial production efficiency through its accuracy. This article focuses on LDG, ZK-LDE and other series of electromagnetic flowmeters, revealing 3 key operating tips to help operators quickly reduce measurement errors by 50% and solve common application challenges of sensors with PTFE rubber lining.
The installation location of an electromagnetic flowmeter has a crucial impact on its measurement accuracy. When installing the HK-LDE electromagnetic flowmeter, operators should give priority to locations far away from strong electromagnetic interference sources, such as frequency converters, high-power motors, etc. At the same time, ensure that there are sufficient straight pipe sections before and after the flowmeter (front 5D rear 3D, D is the pipe diameter), so as to avoid measurement errors caused by fluid disturbance. For insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters, it should be ensured that the sensor insertion depth complies with specifications, usually 1/8~1/4 of the inner diameter of the pipe.
Special attention is required when installing sensors with PTFE rubber lining to avoid liner damage caused by mechanical stress. It is recommended to check whether the inner wall of the pipe is smooth and free of burrs before installation, and to use special tools for installation. For electromagnetic flowmeters of the ZK-LDE series and similar models, the installation angle also needs to be considered. During horizontal installation, the electrodes should be located below the centerline of the pipe to avoid the accumulation of air bubbles affecting measurement.
Poor grounding is one of the common causes of measurement errors in electromagnetic flowmeters. The HK-LDE electromagnetic flowmeter requires an independent grounding system, and the grounding resistance should be less than 10Ω. For liquids with relatively poor conductivity (such as pure water), a three-electrode system or an additional grounding ring is required. When installing the LDG electromagnetic flowmeter, the grounding wire should be as short and direct as possible to avoid forming a grounding loop.
For insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters, such as the W3000 series, the implementation of the grounding system is even more critical. Good electrical connection between the sensor and the pipe should be ensured, and conductive paste or special grounding plates should be used when necessary. When Magne electromagnetic flowmeters are used in corrosive environments such as the chemical industry, the grounding material needs to be corrosion-resistant, and Hastelloy or titanium is usually selected.
Correct parameter settings are the foundation for ensuring the measurement accuracy of electromagnetic flowmeters. When the HK-LDE electromagnetic flowmeter is used for the first time, parameters such as conductivity threshold and flow range need to be set according to the characteristics of the medium. For flowmeter series such as HY-LD, temperature compensation and viscosity correction also need to be considered. Operators should regularly check these parameters to ensure they match actual operating conditions.
Regular calibration is an important means of maintaining measurement accuracy. It is recommended to perform zero-point calibration on the ZK-LDC electromagnetic flowmeter every 6 months and full-scale calibration once every year. Standard flow devices should be used during calibration, and calibration data should be recorded. For high-performance models such as the HHD electromagnetic flowmeter, online calibration technology can be adopted to reduce downtime.
By optimizing the installation location, standardizing the grounding system, and performing regular calibration, operators can significantly improve the measurement accuracy of the HK-LDE electromagnetic flowmeter and reduce errors by 50%.
