Under the stringent hygiene standards of the food industry, the TK316LB pressure transmitter stands out with its excellent 316L stainless steel material and IP68 protection rating. As food safety regulations become increasingly stringent, food processing enterprises are imposing unprecedentedly high hygiene requirements on production equipment. According to GB 14881-2013 General Hygienic Regulation for Food Production, equipment surfaces that come into direct contact with food must be made of corrosion-resistant materials such as 316L stainless steel, and must meet a protection rating of IP67 or above. This trend has directly driven the widespread application of TK316LB pressure transmitters in key processes such as liquid food filling and CIP cleaning systems. Compared with ordinary industrial scenarios, the food industry places three special requirements on pressure monitoring equipment: non-toxic and harmless materials, structures that can be thoroughly cleaned, and long-term resistance to corrosion from acid and alkali cleaning agents.
The TK316LB pressure transmitter adopts an integrally forged 316L stainless steel diaphragm and a hygienic design certified by ECOLAB, with a surface roughness of Ra≤0.8μm, completely eliminating the risk of microbial growth. In terms of core parameters, this product covers a range of -0.1~40MPa, achieves an accuracy of 0.25%FS, and has an operating temperature range of -30~120℃. Particularly noteworthy is its unique "sandwich" sealing structure: based on the O-ring sealing of the standard PPM-T322H pressure transmitter, a food-grade PTFE isolation layer and laser welding process are added, enabling the product to maintain stable performance even in environments with frequent high-temperature steam sterilization.
In the UHT sterilization system of a well-known dairy enterprise in Northwest China, the originally used PPM-T230F pressure transmitter frequently failed due to its sealing ring not being resistant to high temperatures, resulting in at least 3 unplanned shutdowns per month. After being replaced with the TK316LB, the equipment operated continuously for 18 months without failure. Key improvements included: 1) using a dead-zone-free clamp connection to avoid milk residue; 2) a built-in temperature compensation module, maintaining ±0.1% reading accuracy under 85℃ hot filling conditions; 3) a quick-release structure certified by 3-A Sanitary Standard, reducing the CIP cleaning cycle from 2 hours to 40 minutes. This project successfully helped the customer save 270,000 yuan in annual maintenance costs and increased the product qualification rate to 99.98%.
When selecting a pressure transmitter, technical evaluators need to focus on the following dimensions: medium characteristics (acidity/alkalinity/viscosity), process temperature, cleaning frequency, and certification requirements. For mild environments such as pasteurization, the economical PPM-T132A can meet the requirements; while for highly corrosive scenarios such as fermentation tanks, the JYB-KB-H series Hastelloy version is required. It is worth noting that although the unit price of TK316LB is about 15% higher than that of PPM-T522A, its 5-year total cost of ownership is instead 30% lower, thanks to: 1) maintenance-free design reducing shutdown losses; 2) modular structure lowering spare parts inventory; 3) compliance with EHEDG standards reducing audit risks.
