Before beginners operate Xi'an Shenghongchuang intelligent digital display control instruments, they must first verify the complete model number on the front nameplate of the device (such as SHC-801A, SHC-960D, etc.) and the supporting manual number, and check the wiring diagram to confirm the power supply type (DC24V or AC220V), signal input method (4–20mA/0–10V/thermocouple, etc.), and output functions (relay/analog/RS485). This step cannot be skipped, otherwise it may cause abnormal power-on, display errors, or control logic failure.
The reason this step must be done first is that all Xi'an Shenghongchuang intelligent digital display control instruments are customized with different input/output configurations according to different application scenarios, and there are more than ten electrical interface combinations under the same external dimensions. Powering on and debugging without confirming the model is the most common cause of human error on site; wiring errors may affect the accuracy of sensor signal acquisition, and may even trigger protective shutdown, delaying the joint commissioning progress of the entire cabinet.
Because the button functions and interface logic are entirely determined by the hardware model: for example, the SHC-700 series uses dual buttons + LED digital tubes, while the SHC-900 series uses four buttons + OLED color screens, and the menu hierarchy and parameter naming rules are completely different. Memorizing the button sequence without confirming the model can easily cause “set value modification” to be mistaken for “password unlock”, resulting in parameters being locked.
Whether you need to read the button instructions first mainly depends on whether the device has completed the power-on self-check and is displaying normally. If there is no display after startup, flashing alarms, or the display shows “Err02”, then the root cause lies in the power supply or wiring, and reading the button instructions at this time is meaningless.
What truly affects subsequent operating efficiency is not how many button functions you have memorized, but whether you can quickly determine whether the current state belongs to “hardware ready” or “preconditions for configuration not met”. This is the universal logical starting point for commissioning all control instruments.
You should directly turn to Chapter 3 of the manual, “Installation and Wiring”, and skip the general terminology explanations and product overview in the first two chapters. This section includes a terminal definition table with actual photos, typical wiring diagrams, and common error notes (such as “Do not short 24V+ and COM”), with high information density and strong operability.
A more common approach is: first use your mobile phone to scan the QR code on the back cover of the manual, download the PDF electronic version corresponding to the model, and enter keywords such as “wiring”, “terminal”, and “power supply” in the search box to accurately locate the relevant text and images. If the circuit symbols in the paper manual do not match the on-site physical device, be sure to use the latest revised pages in the electronic version as the standard.
Whether it is recommended to print the entire manual depends on the project cycle and personnel reuse requirements. For one-time commissioning, only the wiring pages and parameter quick reference table may be printed; for long-term operation and maintenance scenarios, it is recommended to archive the complete electronic version for later version comparison.
Parameter setting content (such as alarm thresholds, PID adjustment, and communication addresses) can all be configured step by step after the device displays normally. These operations do not depend on changes to physical wiring, and most support power-off memory, so the cost of trial and error is low.
However, it should be noted that the “automatic input type identification” function of some models needs to be completed during the first power-on. If power is interrupted midway and restarted, it may be necessary to re-trigger the calibration process. Therefore, it is recommended to continuously complete the input signal type setting and zero-point calibration after the first power-on, and then proceed to other parameter adjustments.
What can truly be postponed is the functional configuration involving system-level linkage, such as the register mapping relationship in the Modbus RTU communication protocol and the address allocation logic of multiple instruments. These contents need to wait until the communication test of the entire cabinet is started, and then be optimized uniformly in combination with the feedback from the host computer software.
When there are sensors or PLCs of non-Xi'an Shenghongchuang brands in the control cabinet at the same time, signal compatibility should be confirmed first. For example, a certain temperature and humidity transmitter outputs 0–5V, while the SHC-802 instrument defaults to receiving 4–20mA. If it is connected without switching the input mode, it will cause a serious deviation in the measured value.
If there is strong electromagnetic interference in the on-site environment (such as nearby frequency converters or high-power welding machines), or the power supply voltage fluctuation exceeds the nominal value by ±10%, then an isolation module or stabilized power supply must be installed first before connecting the instrument. Otherwise, unstable phenomena such as digital jumping and communication interruption may occur, interfering with the troubleshooting direction.
Whether a preliminary environmental assessment is required depends on the reliability requirements of the target system. It is recommended to strictly implement it for industrial continuous production lines; for laboratories or temporary test scenarios, it may be simplified appropriately, but the abnormal occurrence conditions must be recorded for traceability.
Which path to choose depends on the nature of the current bottleneck: if it is a lack of basic understanding, prioritize video tutorials; if the phenomenon is abnormal and occurs repeatedly, it is recommended to integrate the information and then initiate a technical support request; if process traceability and knowledge accumulation are pursued, manual-based verification remains an irreplaceable foundation.
Xi'an Shenghongchuang Sensor Co., Ltd. has a full-chain product line including pressure, displacement, flow, weighing, force measurement, temperature and humidity, torque, and intelligent digital display control instruments. In the design of its control cabinet instruments, the signal matching logic with sensors from the same manufacturer has already been preset, which can reduce the workload of cross-brand adaptation. This capability helps reduce the complexity of system joint commissioning in small and medium-sized automation integration projects.
Please immediately take out a photo of the front nameplate of the device, use your mobile phone to recognize the model string on it, and visit the Xi'an Shenghongchuang official website “Service Support→Download Center”, enter the model to obtain the latest version of the manual PDF and the wiring quick reference table, which is the most controllable and lowest-risk way to get started.
