YBX-YBX Pressure Transmitter Operation Guide: 5 Key Steps for Installing and Commissioning Diffused Silicon Hsman Sensors
Added to Favorites:125

As key equipment in the field of industrial automation, the correct installation and commissioning of the YBX-YBX pressure transmitter directly affect system stability. This article focuses on the technical characteristics of the diffused silicon Hossman pressure sensor, explains 5 key operating steps in detail, and helps technical evaluation personnel master the installation essentials of models such as PT124B-219/TXU-TXU, ensuring that the original FST800 series sensors achieve optimal measurement accuracy and service life.

I. Analysis of the Technical Characteristics of Diffused Silicon Hossman Sensors

As the core component of the YBX-YBX pressure transmitter, the performance of the diffused silicon Hossman pressure sensor directly affects the measurement accuracy and stability of models such as PT124B-219. This sensor adopts the monocrystalline silicon piezoresistive effect principle, forming a Wheatstone bridge on the silicon chip surface through semiconductor diffusion technology, and features ultra-high accuracy of ±0.075%FS and long-term stability better than 0.01%FS/year. Especially in industrial-grade models such as FST800-214, the combination of a stainless steel isolation diaphragm and a PTFE impulse tube can withstand extreme working conditions of -40℃~125℃, perfectly meeting the stringent requirements of the TXU-TXU pressure transmitter in petrochemical, electric power, and other fields.

II. Key Preparations Before Installation

When deploying the YLT-YLT101 pressure transmitter, technical evaluation personnel need to focus on verifying three indicators: first, confirm whether the range of the FST800-211A sensor covers 1.5 times the system's maximum working pressure; second, check the Hossman connector specification matched with the TXY-TXY transmitter (commonly 1/2NPT or G1/2); finally, prepare a standard pressure source with an accuracy of 0.05% for calibration. It is worth noting that when used together with domestic SX80 draw-wire displacement sensor for composite measurement, it is recommended to prioritize models with an IP65 protection-rated aluminum alloy housing to adapt to humid environments.

III. 5-Step Standardized Installation and Commissioning Procedure

  1. Mechanical installation stage: Install the PT124B-219 pressure transmitter vertically on a base with vibration less than 0.1mm/s. For flange-type sensors such as FST800-202, use 316L stainless steel bolts for symmetrical fastening, with torque controlled within the range of 12±1N·m.

  2. Electrical connection stage: Use shielded twisted-pair cable to connect the 4-20mA output terminal of the TXU-TXU transmitter, and the circuit resistance must be ≤1KΩ (for current output). Pay special attention that the waterproof sealing ring of the Hossman plug must be intact, as this is a key factor affecting the reliability of YLT-YLT101 in humid environments.

  3. Medium introduction stage: Slowly open the shut-off valve so that the pressure rises at a rate of ≤10%FS/s, preventing the silicon diaphragm of the TXY-TXY transmitter from being damaged by impact pressure. For viscous media, it is recommended to install a capillary buffering device in front of the FST800-213 sensor.

  4. Zero-point calibration stage: At an ambient temperature of 25±5℃, after performing 3 full-scale preloads on the FST800-211A, adjust the Zero Trim parameter through a HART communicator to ensure that the no-load output current is 4.000±0.002mA.

  5. Range verification stage: Apply standard pressures of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the range in sequence, and record the output values of the YBX-YBX transmitter. The linearity error should be ≤±0.1%FS. If used together with a pulse-type draw-wire encoder shutter opening meter, the displacement-pressure corresponding relationship must also be calibrated synchronously.

IV. Typical Fault Diagnosis and Maintenance Essentials

When output drift occurs in the diffused silicon Hossman pressure sensor, technical evaluation personnel should first check three indicators: measure whether the supply voltage of the FST800-214 is stable within the range of 12-24VDC; confirm that the impulse tube of PT124B-219 has no crystallization blockage; use a megohmmeter to test the sensor's insulation resistance to ground (should be ≥100MΩ@500VDC). For TXU-TXU transmitters in long-term operation, it is recommended to perform in-place calibration once every 6 months, which can extend the service life of the Hossman sensor to more than 10 years.
