As a key component in industrial automation,the stability of the WM displacement sensor in harsh environments directly affects equipment operating efficiency。Based on professional test data,this report verifies the excellent performance of the WM draw-wire electronic ruler under extreme conditions such as high temperature,high humidity,and vibration,providing a reliable basis for the selection of flow control equipment。In typical application scenarios such as petrochemical and metallurgical manufacturing,equipment is exposed for long periods to complex operating conditions such as corrosive media and mechanical vibration,which imposes stringent requirements on the environmental adaptability of displacement measurement components。
For the -40℃~85℃ operating temperature range commonly required by flow control equipment,we conducted gradient testing on the WM series draw-wire electronic rulers。Test data shows:after continuous operation at 85℃ for 240 hours,the sensor linearity error was still controlled within ±0.05%FS,far exceeding the industry standard requirement of ±0.1%FS。Its core components use special alloy materials and vacuum sealing technology,effectively avoiding the measurement drift problem caused by thermal expansion and contraction in traditional potentiometer-type sensors。In a heating pipeline network project in Northeast China,this series of sensors has operated stably for three consecutive years,with no signal abnormalities caused by sudden temperature changes during the period。
In comparative testing,the WM displacement sensor also performed exceptionally well in low-temperature environments。When the ambient temperature dropped to -30℃,the output signal of ordinary draw-wire sensors showed obvious fluctuations,while the WM series,through its built-in temperature compensation algorithm,kept the measurement deviation stable within ±0.02mm。This feature makes it especially suitable for flow monitoring systems in special scenarios such as cold-chain logistics and polar scientific research。
By using a salt spray test chamber to simulate high-salt-spray environments in coastal areas,the WM displacement sensor showed no corrosion of internal circuits after 96 hours of continuous testing。Its IP67 protection-rated housing,combined with fluororubber sealing rings,can effectively block the intrusion of water vapor and corrosive gases。In an actual application at a chemical plant in Jiangsu,even when exposed to an acidic medium with a pH value of 3.5,the special stainless steel material used for the sensor draw-wire section remained intact,and the on-site measurement error was always lower than 0.1% of span。
For steam environments in industries such as papermaking and food processing,we specifically tested the long-term stability of the sensor under 95% relative humidity。The data shows:the WML model sensor with a nano hydrophobic coating still maintained an insulation impedance of >100MΩ after operating for 2000 hours in a continuously humid environment,fully meeting the requirements of the ISO-20653 standard for electrical equipment in humid environments。
According to the GB/T2423.10 vibration test standard,the WM series sensors performed excellently under a 10-2000Hz random vibration spectrum。During the test,the WPS-M model sensor mounted on the vibration table showed an output signal fluctuation range of only ±0.01mm after continuous vibration for 2 hours at 3Grms acceleration。Its vibration resistance comes from three core designs:first,a draw-wire guide device with a spring buffer structure;second,PCB board fixing technology using potting adhesive;third,a flexible connection design between the core sensing element and the housing。
In the shock test stage,under a 50g/11ms half-sine wave shock,there was no structural looseness inside the sensor。A quality report from an engineering machinery manufacturer shows that a hydraulic system equipped with WS displacement sensors still maintained positioning accuracy above 97% of the initial calibrated value after 20000 operating cycles,greatly reducing equipment maintenance frequency。
Based on the test data,we recommend:for scenarios with seawater corrosion risks such as port machinery,the WSS stainless steel version should be selected as a priority;for the food and pharmaceutical industries,WS series models compliant with FDA certification are recommended;while the WM displacement sensor,with its all-metal sealed structure,is particularly suitable for complex operating conditions involving high temperature,high humidity,and vibration simultaneously。
