Common RSZS Weighing Sensor Installation Issues: Avoid These 3 Pitfalls to Improve Accuracy by 50%
Added to Favorites:125

Introduction

Improper installation of the RSZS weighing sensor can reduce accuracy by more than 50%!As the core component of industrial weighing, the installation of the column-type pressure sensor directly affects the force measurement accuracy of equipment such as reactors、mixing plants. In this article, the experts from Xi'an Shenghongchuang Instrumentation reveal the 3 most common installation mistakes to help you avoid weighing sensor installation pitfalls and ensure that products such as the HJK-304、RSZNC series deliver optimal performance.

3 critical mistakes in weighing sensor installation

In the field of industrial weighing, the installation quality of the RSZS weighing sensor is directly related to the measurement accuracy of the entire system. According to 15 years of field service data from Xi'an Shenghongchuang Instrumentation, 90% of weighing failures are caused by improper installation. The following are the three major issues most easily overlooked by contractors:

1. Micro-deformation caused by insufficient foundation rigidity

When the RSZQ weighing sensor is installed on the support structure of a reactor, if the thickness of the foundation steel plate is less than 6mm or there is stress concentration in the welding, an elastic deformation of 0.1-0.3mm will occur under load. This micro-deformation can cause the output signal fluctuation of the SHL350 sensor to reach as high as ±2.5%, far exceeding the nominal accuracy requirement of 0.5%FS. The solution is to use an integrally machined aluminum base and carry out preloading treatment in accordance with the ISO 376 standard.

2. Improper cable routing introduces electromagnetic interference

If the signal cable of the RSZQF weighing sensor is laid parallel to the power cable of a frequency converter, a noise voltage of 10-50mV will be generated due to electromagnetic induction. In one mixing plant project, this once caused the output of the RSZ-P1 sensor to jump by 3%, and was completely resolved after switching to shielded twisted-pair cable and maintaining a spacing of 30cm. It is recommended to implement three-level filtering protection with reference to the IEC 61000-6-2 standard.

3. Missing overload protection device

In impact load applications(such as hopper scales), if the RSZ04 weighing sensor is not equipped with a mechanical limit device, instantaneous overload may cause permanent deformation of the elastic body. Engineering cases from Xi'an Shenghongchuang show that after installing the RS-HCW series overload protection kit, the average service life of the sensor is extended by 3 times.
