NZ-TUF-2000S Wall-Mounted Ultrasonic Flow Sensor Installation Guide:3 Steps to Avoid Common Errors
Added to Favorites:125

The NZ-TUF-2000S wall-mounted ultrasonic flow sensor is a precision instrument in the flow-control field, and its installation accuracy directly affects measurement accuracy。This document focuses on the three common pain points for technical evaluation personnel, pipeline matching, sensor alignment, and signal interference. Based on installation experience of same-series products such as SY-CSB and XA98-XI, it provides a 3-step standardized solution to help you avoid 90% of on-site installation errors。

1、Pipeline adaptation: precise matching of material and pipe diameter

The NZ-TUF-2000S wall-mounted ultrasonic flow sensor has strict requirements on pipe material and diameter。According to ISO 12242, the sensor performs best on homogeneous pipes such as carbon steel and stainless steel, while glass-fiber or lined pipes need to use special models such as JC100A。Before actual installation, measure the pipe outside diameter and refer to the table below to choose the matching model:

Pipe outer diameter range(mm)Recommended ModelsSuitable materials
15-100NZ-TDS-100HCarbon steel/Stainless steel
100-300NZ-TUF-2000SCarbon steel/Stainless steel
300-600GR-CSB-1000Glass fiber

Field data from Xi'an Shenghong Chuang Instrument and Meter Co., Ltd. indicates that 35% of ultrasonic measurement error comes from improper pipeline matching。Technical staff need to pay special attention: when the pipe outside diameter has ovality of ±5% or above, it is recommended to switch to adjustable coupler models such as YSD100P。

2、Sensor alignment: the golden rule of angle and spacing

The core principle of ultrasonic flow sensors relies on sound-wave propagation time difference, and NZ-TUF-2000S requires that the axial misalignment between the transmitting and receiving probes does not exceed 0.5°。Our engineering team has summarized the "3-2-1" alignment method:

1. 3× pipe-diameter principle:Sensor installation spacing should be greater than 3× the upstream diameter and 1× the downstream diameter to avoid swirl interference。For high-frequency models such as XA98-XI, this distance needs to be increased by 20%。

2.2mm coupling layer:Use dedicated acoustic coupling compound (such as the SY-CSB matching couplant), control thickness at 1.5-2mm, too thick will cause signal attenuation。

3.1 complete calibration:After installation, full calibration must be carried out and compared with the factory parameters of NZ-TUF-2000P, with flow velocity error required to be <0.5%。

3、Signal interference immunity: electromagnetic shielding and grounding practice

Common industrial-site devices such as inverters and high-power motors can generate electromagnetic interference。Based on measured data from models such as YSD100H, we recommend:

• Use twisted-shielded cable (AWG18 or above), shield layer grounded on one end• Keep minimum distance between sensor and inverter not less than 1.5m• Use an isolated signal converter (such as GR-CSB-1000 matching module)

4、Technical comparison: NZ-TUF series vs key parameters of competitors

Laboratory comparison tests by Xi'an Shenghong Chuang Instrument and Meter Co., Ltd. show that NZ-TUF-2000S is superior to similar products in the following areas:

ModelMeasurement AccuracyOperating TemperatureProtection Rating
NZ-TUF-2000S±0.5%-30~80℃IP68
JC100A±1.0%-20~60℃IP65
YSD100Y±0.8%-10~70℃IP67
