In the food industry’s stringent hygienic environment, the selection of the HDP707 pressure transmitter directly affects production safety and efficiency. This article focuses on food-grade application scenarios, provides an in-depth analysis of key parameter requirements such as 316L stainless steel material and IP68 protection rating, and compares the compatibility of models such as the ZP-210 series and YS2BE, providing technical evaluators with a selection decision-making framework that meets FDA/3-A certification standards.
During food production processes, pressure transmitters may come into direct contact with food media or operate in high-humidity and highly corrosive environments. The HDP707 pressure transmitter uses a 316L stainless steel housing and diaphragm, with corrosion resistance far superior to ordinary 304 stainless steel, effectively resisting acidic cleaning agents and salt spray corrosion. According to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 standards, all wetted parts must pass material compatibility testing to ensure that no harmful substances are released. In addition, the IP68 protection rating enables it to withstand high-pressure water jet cleaning, meeting the stringent requirements of daily CIP(clean-in-place).
From the comparison, it can be seen that the HDP707 has clear advantages in accuracy and protection rating, making it especially suitable for scenarios such as dairy products and beer fermentation that require high hygiene standards. Its dry ceramic capacitive sensing technology avoids the leakage risk of traditional oil-filled sensors and complies with the hygienic design guidelines of EHEDG(European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group).
Technical evaluators should focus on the following dimensions during selection: 1) media compatibility verification, confirming whether the wetted parts of the transmitter can withstand the pH range(usually required to be 2-11); 2) process connection method, as Tri-Clamp connections are easier to disassemble and clean than threaded connections; 3) temperature compensation range, where the HDP707’s wide temperature range of -20℃~85℃ covers the requirements of pasteurization processes. It is recommended to verify compliance with 3-A Sanitary Standard 74-03 through third-party test reports.
In a project for an international dairy company, after the HDP707 replaced the original ZP-212H pressure transmitter, the equipment cleaning cycle was extended from once a week to once a month, reducing annual maintenance costs by 37%. For scenarios with limited budgets, the ZP-213 pressure transmitter can be considered as a transitional solution, but its 316L stainless steel only covers the diaphragm part. For long-term use, it is still necessary to upgrade to the HDP901 or HDP707 with a full stainless steel structure.
